Seven Droplet Interlaced Discs - Glass Lampwork Necklace By Amy Holms
This necklace of 7 interlocking lampwork glass beads was handmade in my studio from Effetre Italian glass. It is comprised of a glass donut bail and pressed glass circles made of transparent golden taupe. The pendant discs are set parallel and perpendicular to the glass bail. The center bead has 4 alternating discs decreasing one disc for each bead to the sides, with a single droplet at each end. The beads were designed to sit snugly next to each other. They are well-fused and are shown here with spacers that will be included with the 7 beads in this modern and minimalist set. The center bead is approximately 2 1/4" long, and the bib-style glasswork measures about 2 3/4" across. The beads have been kiln annealed for longevity and cleaned with a diamond reamer. The beads were created on a 3/32" mandrel. The 16" 1mm sterling silver omega necklace shown is included in the price of the necklace

Artist’s Statement
My architectural background has led to a love of clean, colorful and modern styling. I am currently working to translate this aesthetic into the fluid medium of glass. One of my favorite comments about my work is that my beads are like ‘liquid color.’ I am thrilled by the combination of pure color and clean design with the transparency that glass affords me. I am highly interested in both structure and form, and strive to create work that is both elegant and functional. Each of my pieces is handmade from Italian, German and American glass. All work is kiln-annealed for longevity and cleaned with a diamond reamer, ready for use.
