Three-legged Star Pine Vessel by Pete Campbell
18 inches tall, 12 inches diameter Star Pine hand-carved vessel
Pete Campbell is a California craftsman, born in Palm Springs, now living in Warner Springs. He specializes in making hollow forms. He turns his pieces on a lathe, using a very difficult technique called “blind hollow turning." Many of his pieces are made from unique burls, which reveal their irregular grains and luster as his forms take shape.
Though he has worked with wood his whole life, he only began learning how to turn wood in 2001 when he retired. In short order, he achieved a master’s status, and has won many awards for his pieces.
Pete is a member of the American Association of Woodturners (AAW) and is a sought-after speaker, instructor and mentor.
